Amanda Brock, founder and CEO of Water Standard, has spent her career building and managing global infrastructure businesses in the oil and gas, water and power industries. She was named one of the top 10 women in energy by the Houston Chronicle, recognized by Water & Wastewater International (WWI) as one of the top 25 global leaders in water and waste water, and also as an Honoree as an Innovator for Women in Energy. She was invited to the White House to participate in the US Water Initiative and organized a White House delegation to Abu Dhabi.
Currently, Ms. Brock serves on the Boards of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, the Harte Institute (HRI) for Gulf of Mexico Studies, Amane Water and Oilfield Labs of America, and the Advisory Boards of Accelerate H2O and Arts for Animals. She previously served on the Board of Trustees of LSU Law School and the Texas Water Commission.
Ms. Brock is regularly requested to speak and participate at global events including several Global Water Summits throughout the years, the Citi Bank and Goldman Sachs Industrial conferences, the Business and Professional Women’s Leadership Summit sponsored by the US Senate, and as an Innovation Speaker at the GASTECH Conference in Abu Dhabi. She was invited by Bloomberg to attend the 50 Thought Leaders in Water global conference and spoke at the first Bloomberg Oil and Gas Conference. She participated in the Ceres roll out of their Hydraulic Fracturing report and spoke at their annual conference. Ms. Brock was a featured expert at the Border Energy Forum and interviewed George P. Bush on the water energy nexus. She also participated in a plenary session at WEFTEC 2016 with the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Energy focusing on the water, energy, and food nexus. Ms. Brock is viewed as an industry strategist, collaborating with Private Equity Investors to identify global investment opportunities in the water sector. She is also a regular columnist for Global Water Intelligence, writing on the water energy nexus.
Originally from Mbabane, Swaziland, Ms. Brock grew up in Zimbabwe and attended undergraduate school in South Africa and then law school at LSU. She is dedicated to conservation and passionate about water, elephants, art, and energy security.
