Andrew Shepherd has worked at SEAT’s Technical Centre in Martorell, near Barcelona for over 25 years. He is responsible for the development of natural gas vehicle projects within the Whole Vehicle Engineering Department. SEAT is the only company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets cars in Spain, exporting more than 80% of its vehicles and is present in over 75 countries.
After graduating in Mechanical Engineering at the Hatfield Polytechnic in Hertfordshire, UK, he has spent his entire professional life working as a development engineer in the European automotive industry.
He is leading SEAT’s investigation into the use of biomethane as an automotive fuel and his team is working on a variety of projects to evaluate renewable bio-CNG obtained from the treatment of residual waste as a viable and cost effective contributor to sustainable mobility.
