Dr. Gesner Oliveira
Gesner Oliveira was President of Sabesp (Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo), one of the largest water companies in the world (2006-2010). He served two terms as President of CADE (1996-2000), and was Secretary for Economic Monitoring in 1995 at the Ministry of Finance and Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy in 1993-94.
He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California / Berkeley, Master from Universidade de Campinas and Bachelor of Economics from Universidade de São Paulo. He was visiting professor at Columbia University in the U.S. in 2006. He is a professor of Economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and partner of a consulting firm based in Brazil, Go Associados.
