Hila Gil

Hila Gil has an MSc Degree in Environmental Engineering, specialising in water resources from The Hebrew University. She also has an MSc Degree in Chemical Engineering from Ben Gurion University.

Since July 2015 Hila has been the Head of the Desalination Division in the Water Authority  and Chairman of the Desalination Administration ,and a member of Tenders Committee for Desalination of Sea Water. She is responsible for managing the agreements with the desalination plants in legal, technical and financial aspects in cooperation with the Accountant General at the Ministry of Finance. Hila is also responsible for initiating desalination projects and carrying out implementation throughout all stages of the project (planning, construction, operation and maintenance).

Further, she is involved in promoting statutory procedures for securing areas for desalination facilities and preparing documents for detailed planning. In addition, she is responsible for preparing position papers and policies for the Authority’s director in the field of desalination.
