Kevin P. Fisher
Kevin P. Fisher is currently the Director of Water Quality and Treatment for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (Authority) in Las Vegas, Nevada. His current responsibilities include overseeing the Water Quality and Treatment Department which includes the Treatment Division, Water Quality Research and Development Division, Regional Water Quality Division, and the Laboratory Division, with a combined staff of approximately 107.
Kevin has over 30 years of experience in the water industry, including five years in the geothermal and nuclear industry. He has been with the Las Vegas Valley Water District (District) since 1994 and has held various positions in the Engineering Department, Construction Management, Operations Department, and in the Water Quality and Treatment Department.
Kevin has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from New Mexico State University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from California State University. He maintains a Grade IV Water Distribution Certification and a Grade IV Water Treatment Certification for the State of Nevada.
Kevin implemented and coordinated the Emergency Response Plan for the District and oversees the Emergency Response exercises. The District’s SCADA control strategy was redesigned under Mr. Fisher’s direction making the District one of the primary water utilities who balances water quality with energy consumption. In addition, Mr. Fisher made asset management one of the District’s goals. He also represents the Authority and the District in the WaterStart Innovation Forum.
Kevin is a member of the American Water Works Association and the American Public Works Association.
Kevin has been married over 35 years and has two children.
