Narcís Berberana has held roles as CEO and COO in large companies within the environmental and water utility sector. He has been part of the Agbar Suez group for 20 years. Starting in 2016, he was appointed as CEO of the Aguas Andinas group, the leading water utility company in Chile and one of the fifteenth most liquid shares on the IPSA 40 Index (Chilean stock market). Aguas Andinas manages the integral water cycle for around 8 million inhabitants. As one of the Company’s accomplished goals, Aguas Andinas implemented a successful Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Plan in Santiago, Chile’s capital. The Metropolitan Region achieved 100% wastewater treatment in record time, implementing this in the span of ten years while still providing the lowest tariffs among OECD countries.
Narcís believes in the Circular Economy. He has led the company’s internal challenge to turn its wastewater treatment plants into biofactories based on Industry 4.0 principles. He leads the strategy to fulfil the dream of becoming a zero emissions, zero waste and energy self-sufficient company. He is an Industrial Civil Engineer, with Masters degrees in New Company Management Technologies at the Madrid School of Industrial Organization, and in Executive Development Planning at Instituto de Empresa, IE of Madrid, Spain, among others.
