Néstor Guillermo Franco currently serves as the General Director of the Board of Directors at the Autonomous Regional Corporation of Cundinamarca for the period 2016-2019. Since 2007, he has been working at the Autonomous Regional Corporation of Cundinamarca, first as an external consultant (2007-2012) and since August 2012 as the General Secretary of the entity, during which time he assumed various positions as General Manager.
Mr. Franco has 25 years of professional experience in judicial defense of public and private interests. He has served as litigant, Consultant and Advisor to various State entities at all territorial levels. He has also been an advisor and consultant to the Ministry of the Interior and Justice.
He has worked in the environmental sector reporting to the Secretary of Environment of Bogotá (formerly DAMA), as well as to the Special Administrative Unit of the Natural National Parks System – Ministry of the Environment. In addition, he worked at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands coordinating the Program “Strengthening Institutional Management through Improving the Infrastructure of the Protected Areas of the Territorial Directorate of Amazonia/ Orinoquía.”
