Biography

Mr Peter Joo Hee Ng currently leads PUB, Singapore’s national water agency. In this role, he is responsible for the supply of potable water, the reclamation and treatment of used water, and the management of storm water in Singapore. He also holds a concurrent appointment as the Deputy Secretary (Special Duties) in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.

On 5 Jan 2015, Mr Ng completed a 29½-year career in the Singapore Police Force, the last five as the Commissioner of Police.

Mr Ng, 50, joined the Police when he was awarded the SPF Overseas Scholarship in 1985. He read Engineering Science and Economics at the University of Oxford, graduating with honours in 1988. He also has an MBA from the Nanyang Technological University (1998), and a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (2001).
