Tim Harper is a former European Space Agency engineer turned entrepreneur with a track record of creating and building international businesses based on advanced materials, nanotechnology and graphene.
Tim specialises in developing early stage ‘hard tech’ businesses, using technologies spun out from universities. He is currently CEO of Manchester based G2O Water Technologies developing graphene based desalination systems and a director of DeHeat, a solid-state cooling company based at Daresbury.
Tim chairs of the Northern region of the Bessemer Society, formed of ‘serial’ CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs who are committed to creating successful new companies based on technological innovation in the fields of science and technology.
He has also advised national governments and NGOs such as the United Nations and World Economic Forum on emerging technologies, technology policy and innovation strategy, and chaired or participated in review committees for funding agencies in Austria, UK, Taiwan and the European Commission.
