Biography

Charlotte Oakes joined Global Water Intelligence in 2019. As technology editor, she draws together the latest technology trends, opportunities and innovations for the CTO section of GWI magazine each month, while also contributing to related research across WaterData and GWI events. Her work includes deep-dive articles on technologies to tackle urgent issues in the water sector, such as micropollutants, PFAS and the extraction of value from waste. She also has a keen interest in exploring the water needs of industries such as food & beverage, textiles and semiconductors, with her previous research having analysed solutions to help unlock effective treatment and enhanced reuse & recovery.  

Charlotte has presented on technology trends at leading water conferences including the Global Water Summit and Aquatech Amsterdam. She holds a BA in History and English from the University of Oxford.
