Biography

Mr. Dana Kishore Meejuri is a member of prestigious Indian Administrative Services and has vast experience in Rural & Urban Development.

As an Indian Administrative Officer he started his career as Sub-Collector & Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gadwal and later as project officer, Integrated Tribal Development Agency and moved to Kurnool District as Project Director, District Water management Agency. In this position he has contributed to the water sector by implementing 560 watersheds with introduction of User group concept, initiated and implemented women managed water shed programme. He served as Joint Collector rendering various administrative functions in land revenue, Public distribution system related issues in the districts of Karimnagar and East Godavari of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State.

He served as District Collector and Magistrate for Kurnool and Ranga Reddy districts.  As Collector Kurnool he has implemented various innovative programs in water, agriculture and education sectors bringing in policy reforms and conducting Khammam elections.

He served as Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board and as Secretary in Minority welfare & Women Development, Child Welfare & Disabled Welfare Department. Secretary in Housing department and Managing Director in Telangana Housing Corporation, Telangana Housing Board, Rajeev Swagruha and CEO –DILL. He served as Commissioner in Information & Public Relations department and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA), Managing Director Telangana Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and Director of Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas during which period he worked on refinement of policies, guidelines for solid and liquid waste management and improvement in Municipalities tax system.

He served as Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, which is a 12 Million population city. He focused in this assignment on Maintenance of city infrastructure, Public Health, Implementation of various city infrastructure projects etc. As District Election officer in 2019, he has conducted General Assembly elections in Hyderabad city.

Presently serving as Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), from Apr 2016 he is responsible to look after the Supply of Drinking Water to the Greater City of Hyderabad, its Sewerage collection, treatment and safe disposal, Maintenance of Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes & Planning, Design and Execution of new Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes.

Under his able leadership of Mr. Dana Kishore, HMWSSB has successfully grounded & completed city’s major water supply distribution projects aimed towards equitable distribution of water supply to the peripheral localities of Greater Hyderabad. Under his guidance, 2 projects of USD 281.523 Million for distribution of water to population of 4 Million are completed in record period of time. His innovative approach in eliminating manual sewer operations by introduction of Mini Sewer Jetting vehicles in the Hyderabad city has gained recognition at national level across India and has bagged various awards for HMWSSB notably, (a) Telangana State Excellence Awards 2018; (b)AMRUT Tech Challenge Award 2018 (c) HUDCO BEST PRACTICES AWARDS – 2018-19.

Under his able leadership, HMWSSB is working on further prestigious projects such as making Hyderabad 100% sewerage treated city by mid 2023, making Hyderabad water secure city through source augmentation project at Sunkishala etc. Further in his guidance, HMWSSB is taking up digital transformation measured with a motto of making HMWSSB a Smart utility.

He has been a member of Indian Administrative service since 1996.
