We have been carefully monitoring the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak over the past few weeks. Due to recent disruption and newly imposed travel restrictions, we have taken the decision to postpone the Global Water Summit until 16th – 18th May 2021.
Over the last 14 years, the Global Water Summit has become known for its exceptional networking and agenda, and this is heavily dependent on having the key decision-makers and executives in the room.
We take these expectations of the Summit very seriously and believe that a postponement of the event will give us an even greater opportunity to build the best Global Water Summit agenda to date, along with a guarantee that the key participants will be in attendance. Ensuring a return on your investment is our priority and the best interests of our delegates sit at the heart of this decision.
If you have already registered, your booking will automatically be credited to the 2021 Global Water Summit taking place on 16th – 18th May.
You do not need to take any further action, your booking is still confirmed and we will update you with logistical information about your attendance at the Summit in May closer to the time.
If you have already booked your room at the Novotel Madrid Center, we are pleased to inform you that your booking will automatically be transferred to the equivalent event dates. Your new booking will be made for the same number of room nights.
Day 0 of the conference will commence on 16th May 2021, with Day 1 on 17th May, and Day 2 on 18th May.
If you did not book your hotel stay through the official GWS booking link, you will need to contact the hotel directly in order to amend your booking. If this is the case, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you did book through the special delegate link, you do not need to take any further action unless you need to otherwise amend your booking, amend the duration of your stay, or request a hotel refund. If this is the case, please contact email@example.com.
One-to-One meeting booking will be closed and reopened later this year, as we expect some disruption to this system. You will be notified when the system reopens so that you can recommence booking your meetings.
The GWS team are unable to assist with rescheduling existing travel arrangements with third parties. Our advice is to revert to booking agents and insurance companies who will have policies in place in response to the developments with COVID-19, according to official guidance.
Voting for this year’s awards is already complete, therefore we will still be announcing the winners of the Global Water Awards for 2020 this year. Starting each week from the 23rd July, we will present the awards for one category every Thursday for 12 weeks via the GWI Briefing, culminating in the announcement of the winner of 2020 Water Company of the Year on the 8th of October 2020.
We will be announcing further details and a schedule for when each award will be presented in the coming weeks. Make sure you follow the Global Water Summit on LinkedIn and Twitter to stay up to date, and sign up to the GWI Briefing to ensure you receive the announcements.
In light of these exceptional circumstances, we are in the process of putting special arrangements for refunds in place. We, therefore, will be temporarily suspending refunds until 31st July 2020. Any cancellation requests received during this period will not be refunded until 1st August 2020 and will need to be confirmed.
We will begin accepting refund requests from 1st August 2020 until 16th April 2021, subject to a £120/$180 administration charge. Delegates who wish to cancel their registration will be eligible for refunds during this time period. In line with our standard pre-event cancellation policy, no refunds will be given within 30 days of the event or after 16th April 2021.
Substitution of registrants may be made at any time up to the start of the conference at no charge.
