Global Water Summit 2020: Postponed to 30th August – 1st September 2020

We have been carefully monitoring the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak over the past few weeks. Due to recent disruption and newly imposed travel restrictions, we have taken the decision to postpone the Global Water Summit 2020 until 30th August – 1st September 2020.

Over the last 14 years, the Global Water Summit has become known for its exceptional networking and agenda, and this is heavily dependent on having the key decision makers and executives in the room.

We take these expectations of the Summit very seriously and believe that a postponement of the event will give us an even greater opportunity to build the best Global Water Summit agenda to date, along with a guarantee that the key participants will be in attendance. Ensuring a return on your investment is our priority and the best interests of our delegates sit at the heart of this decision.

What will happen to my booking?

If you have already registered, your booking will automatically be transferred to the new dates for the Global Water Summit taking place on 30th August – 1st September.

You do not need to take any further action, your booking is still confirmed and we will update you with logistical information about your attendance at the Summit in August closer to the time.

I have already booked my room – how do I amend/transfer my booking?

If you have already booked your room at the Novotel Madrid Center, we are pleased to inform you that your booking will automatically be transferred to the equivalent event dates. Your new booking will be made for the same number of room nights.

Day 0 of the conference will commence on 30th August, Day 1 on the 31st August and Day 2 on the 1st September.

I have booked one-to-one networking meetings, what will happen to my confirmed meetings?

We are temporarily freezing One-to-One meeting booking. After April 6th, your meetings will be automatically transferred to the new event dates.

Travel arrangements and bookings

The GWS team are unable to assist with rescheduling existing travel arrangements with third parties. Our advice is to revert to booking agents and insurance companies who will have policies in place in response to the developments with Covid-19, according to official guidance.

What if I am unable to attend now that the dates have changed? What is the refund policy?

We are honouring our existing booking terms to allow cancellations with immediate refunds until 2nd March 2020. In line with these terms, all refunds are subject to a £120/$180 administration charge.

From 3rd March 2020, we will apply a no-refund policy for a 4-week period until 1st April. Any cancellation requests received during this period will not be refunded until 1st April 2020 and will need to be confirmed.

We will be restarting our pre-event cancellation policy from 1st April and delegates who wish to cancel their registration will be eligible for refunds on request during this time period until 31st July 2020, subject to a £120/$180 administration fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations notified after 31st July 2020.

Substitution of registrants may be made at any time up to the start of the conference at no charge.
