Biography
Ms. Evis Gjebrea has held position of Deputy General Director at the Tirana Water & Wastewater Utility (TWWU) since March 2016. Prior to joining, Ms. Gjebrea worked at the Municipality of Tirana and was Member of the Supervisory Board of the TWWU. She is responsible for sales and finance policy formulation and implementation, as well as representing the utility to third parties and international partners/institutions. Her most recent role has been as Project Coordinator for the EBRD project “Upgrade of part of the water system in the Municipality of Tirana”.
Ms. Gjebrea has a broad range of professional experience having worked with the Ministry of Finance at the Foreign Debt Department for eight years and World Bank as a consultant in Washington D.C and Tirana. Through the years Ms. Gjebrea has shown great professional knowledge of the region being involved with projects implemented in Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.
Ms. Gjebrea also has a strong academic research background and holds a PhD in Economic Sciences focusing on efficiency models for water supply and wastewater sector in Albania. Her other qualifications include a Bachelor degree in International Economic Relations from the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and Master Degree in Banking and Finance for Development from Giordano dell’Amore Foundation in collaboration with University of Bocconi and Milan State University, in Milan – Italy. She has also been full time Lecturer for eight years at the European University of Tirana (EUT) and a part-time lecturer at same University as well as New York University of Tirana since 2015.
