Biography

Since May 2022 Francesco Maffini is the Asset Manager of the Hera SpA Water Department, with responsibility for managing the development of water assets, aqueduct and sewerage networks and treatment plants, through the planning of projects able to consider the evolutionary scenarios, the sustainability as financial driver and the technological development as operations enhancement.

From 2017 to May 2022, he had the responsibility for the Aqueduct of Hera SpA, both plants and networks in the Emilia Romagna area for a total network length of over 16,000 km.

From 2012 to 2017 he was in charge of Aqueduct Purification Plants Manager for the whole Hera Group, a huge area composed by six provinces of the Emilia Romagna. The number of managed plants consisted of 30 water purification plants and thousands of aqueduct network systems (tanks, lifting systems, reducers, springs, network chlorination, etc.).

In 2006 Francesco Maffini had the position of Aqueduct Manager, treatment plants and networks, for the whole Province of Ferrara.

In 2004 he joined the Hera SpA Group as Manager of the Pontelagoscuro – Ferrara purification plant as part of the Aqueduct Water Service.

From 2001 to 2004 Francesco Maffini worked as infrastructural works Site Manager for construction companies in the northern of Italy.

Graduated in 2001 with honors in Civil-Hydraulic Engineering at Ferrara University (Thesis – Environmental Health Engineering on softening treatments for drinking water).
