Biography

Junghyo Yoon received his Ph.D in 2016 from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Korea University in Seoul, Korea. After completing his degree, he joined the research group of Jongyoon Han at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017. During his time at MIT, he focused on developing the Ion Concentration Polarization (ICP) process for sustainable water treatment, which is a filter-less and chemical-free process. The research for this project was funded by the US Army Natick Research Center, and it is currently being commercialized with the help of the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab. Currently, Junghyo Yoon serves as the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of NONA Technologies, which is a company that specializes in next-generation water treatment solutions aimed at addressing health and environmental challenges.
