Biography

Richard Harasick is the Senior Assistant General Manager of the Water System for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). The LADWP is the largest municipal utility in the United States. Mr. Harasick has over 30 years of experience in water utility planning, design, construction, project and program management, and operations. He most recently served as the Director of Water Operations for LADWP, where he was responsible for the delivery and treatment of water that is served to the City of Los Angeles, including operation of the Los Angeles Basin “Metro” and the Los Angeles Aqueduct systems. As the head of the Los Angeles Water System, he manages a $1.5 billion annual budget and 2,200 employees to provide its customers with reliable, high quality and competitively priced water services in a safe and publically and environmentally responsible manner.
