Vicente Bernal

Dr. Vicente Bernal has over 16 years of experience in the fields of Microbial Biotechnology, Biocatalysis and Metabolic Engineering, both in academia and industry. For many years, he has applied metabolic engineering tools to decipher what the major factors defining metabolic fluxes in microorganisms are. Currently, he is exploring new opportunities for biotechnology in the oil & gas industry. This includes the application of state-of-the art biological techniques, which allow further understanding of industrial wastewater processes, and the development of novel strategies to improve their performance.
