Biography

Dr. Zouhayr Arbib is the Head of Sustainability Area in Aqualia.

Industrial technical engineer from the University of Cádiz, he has 2 master’s degrees: comprehensive water management from the University of Cádiz and a master’s degree in occupational risk prevention, as well as an expert postgraduate degree in oil refining. In 2012 he obtained a doctorate in environmental technology from the University of Cádiz, obtaining the extraordinary award. He has participated in 25 competitive research projects subsidized by different regional, national and international entities (AECID, FP7, Life, H2020, BBI, CIEN, Innpronta, CENIT, IDEA and Retos). He has directed and coordinated 10 research projects, co-author of 2 book chapters, 3 national and international patents, and of around 40 communications in national and international research journals. He has been co-director of a doctoral thesis and taught courses at the University of Cádiz and at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Since 2012 he has been responsible for the Sustainability Area in the Department of Innovation and Technology at Aqualia.
