Abdelmajid Bettaieb

Abdelmajid Bettaieb is the CEO of the National Sanitation Office for Tunisia (ONAS). After graduating from engineering at the Higher School of Engineers in Medjez el Bab in 1990, he began his professional career at the National Development Agency of the South in Medenine. He thereafter joined ONAS, where he has climbed to the top of the ladder by occupying various positions: 

• Engineering Project Manager (1993-1999)  
• Director for the District of Ariana (1999)  
• Director for the District of Ettadhamen (2000)  
• Chief Operating Officer for the Ariana/Manouba Regional Department (2000-2002)  
• Head of Department for the Béjà-Siliana region (2003-2005)   
• Head of Department for the Central region (2005-2014)  
• Director for Department of Major Projects (2014-2015)    
• Head of Technical Department for the Central region (2015-2017)    
• General Manager of the National Coastal Protection and Development Agency (APAL) (2017-2018) 

Throughout his professional career, he has acquired multidisciplinary expertise in the study and execution of investment projects in the sanitation sector, operation of sanitation and stormwater facilities, evaluation of the environmental and social impact of sanitation projects, industrial pollution control and management of coastal areas and maritime spaces.
