Bhavik is a PhD graduate and microbiologist, within the Digital Water Team at Arup. As a scientist with a background in translating biological solutions to real-world applications, he helps clients design and implement digital solutions to facilitate intelligence driven decision making for health, using water. With research experience in medical, industrial, and high-throughput laboratories, he has a good track record of delivering projects for high-profile organisations within the pharmaceutical industry and for government stakeholders. Bhavik consults on projects allied to detection of biomarkers and infectious diseases in water, and has been supporting the Welsh Government to provide novel insights through our water networks which contribute to health policy and decision making at a national level.
Bhavik has expertise in integrating biological and digital processes for automated and high-throughput molecular biology applications. Completing the design of an automated COVID-19 testing laboratory during the pandemic and consulting on a UK Home Office technology mapping project, enabling the use of wastewater as a defence capability. As a scientist, he has experience in delivering projects involving microbiology, biofilms research and data analytics for multiple sectors.
