Biography

Claudio Muñoz was born in 1963. He is Chilean, married and father of three children. He has a Civil Industrial Engineer degree from the University of Chile. 

Claudio’s professional career was developed at Telefónica, where he held executive positions in Spain and Chile. He was Chairman of Telefónica in Chile until April 2018. He is currently Chairman of the Board in Aguas Andinas S.A., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corona S.A., a Chilean retail company, and Professor of the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad del Desarrollo. 

He is also President of Chapter Zero Chile, an initiative in conjunction with the World Economic Forum, to combat climate change. He was appointed as a Board Director of ACHS, the Chilean Association for Labor Security, November 2021. He is also President of the Business Collaboration Center at the Universidad del Desarrollo. 

Claudio is a Director of the Fundación La Protectora de la Infancia and President of the Educational Foundation of the organisation. 

He was recognised as Executive of the Year in Chile in 2014, received a Management Award from the College of Engineers of Chile in 2015 and was awarded the Order of Merit in 2017 by the World Education Council. He is also a co-author of the book “¿Y si nos ponemos de acuerdo?”, published in 2018.
