Biography

Executive with 23 years of experience in management and investment in water and infrastructure from Executive Committee roles as well as board member positions. Guillermo is currently the head of Europe at Aqualia, present in 8 European countries (18 in total), where he has achieved an 80% increase in EBITDA in the past 6 years. His previous role at Aqualia’s main shareholder, FCC Group, was leading the Group’s Real Estate business. He has been executive director or CEO of more than twenty FCC Group’s subsidiaries or affiliates in 8 different countries. He joined FCC Group’s top management team in 2010 as Executive Advisor to the Chairman and CEO, after having worked in infrastructure private equity in Europe, at Atlas Capital Private Equity, and in New York, at Macquarie.

In addition, Guillermo is currently non-executive director at the board of a pension fund manager at Banco Caminos, and Corporate Finance professor for Industrial Engineers at ICAI, Universidad Pontificia de Comillas.  Guillermo holds an MScEng in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School, Columbia University (New York).

A well-known speaker, he has participated in numerous sectoral meetings and summits analysing the future challenges of water management from the perspective of public-private collaboration and environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
