CEO, Haya Water, Oman

Biography

Hussain Hassan Ali AbdulHussain became the Chief Executive Officer of Haya Water in January 2012. He brings 24 years experience in oil and gas projects, operations, business operation and commercial developments in Oman to the role and will lead one of Oman’s most dynamic, progressive and innovative companies.

A graduate from the University of Arizona, Mr. AbdulHussain spent 14 years working for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) before moving to the Oman Oil Company and then onto helping found Oman Petrochemical Industries Company (OPIC).

He subsequently moved to work at Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company (ORPC) as Business Development and Marketing General Manager before leaving to establish his own Engineering Support and Services business.

Mr. AbdulHussain is now leading an organisation that is already making a massive positive impact on the lives of tens of thousands of people across the Muscat Governorate area as Haya Water’s water reuse project connects increasing numbers of people to its modern piped wastewater system every day.

Haya Water’s massive water reuse project is be one of the biggest infrastructure developments of its kind and complexity ever seen in the Gulf region and one of the single largest construction and development projects ever undertaken in the Sultanate. Thousands of kilometres of pipeline has already been laid to connect homes and businesses to the new network that will replace the old, smelly and inefficient septic tank system that is currently used by most properties in Muscat. New and modern water treatment plants have been executed and others are either under execution or will be executed in coming years.
