Biography

KC Chou is the senior vice president of Production Management, Material Management, Logistic Management, Customer Service, Human Resource, and Factory Service at ASE Group’s Kaohsiung site.

During his time in ASE, Chou has served as process engineer, principal engineer, manager, manufacturing director and vice president.

Chou is also the acting Vice President of Supply Management Institute, Taiwan (SMIT), Vice President of Taiwan Alliance for Sustainable Supply (TASS), Director of Center for Corporate Sustainability (CCS), Honorary Director of Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA), Honorary President of Taiwan Export Processing Zone Electrical and Electronic Manufactures Association (EESMA).

Chou received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Chou has also been recognized as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) issued by Institute for Supply Management (ISM). He likes to learn, share and help people and enjoys writing acrostic Chinese poetry to entertain people. He is currently fixated on circular economy, of which sustainable water practice is a key topic.

ASE has invested approximately USD$25 million (NTD$750 million) since Jan. 2013 in Phase I of the K14 water recycling plant in Nantze Export Processing Zone (NEPZ), Kaohsiung. This is Taiwan’s first water recycling plant capable of treating 20,000 metric tons of wastewater and producing at least 10,000 metric tons of purified recycled water daily.

Phase II of water recycling project will begin operation in 2019 H2, and wastewater recovery ratio will increase to 70% from the 50% in Phase I. Daily wastewater treatment capacity is expected to increase to 30,000 tons, and 21,000 tons of recycled water will be recovered.
