Biography

Miguel Angel Sanz is Director of Strategic Development for Suez Treatment Infrastructure, based in France. Mr. Sanz received his master’s degree in industrial engineering in 1981 from the Bilbao High Technical School of Engineers and later joined the Degrémont group in 1983. He has held several positions in the group in Spain and France, including Technical Director, Desalination Manager, Proposal Director and Business Development Director.

Currently, Mr. Sanz is President of the Board of Directors of IDA (International Desalination Association), and Director of AEDyR (the Spanish Desalination and Reuse Association). During the last term, he was Vice President for both associations. He has also served 8 years in the board of directors for the European Desalination Society.

Mr. Sanz has over 34 years of professional experience in desalination as well as in drinking water and wastewater, on both the municipal and industrial level. He has been active in innovation within, and worldwide promotion of, the membrane desalination field, publishing more than 50 papers on desalination and water & wastewater treatments.
