Steve Capewell

Steve is the Managing Director of Goulburn Valley Water, one of the largest water utilities in Regional Victoria.  He has over 25 years’ experience in the water services industry with a strong background in engineering, asset management, operations and maintenance and major project delivery. In the years prior to joining Goulburn Valley, Steve was part of the executive team at Water Corporation in Western Australia where he was intimately involved with Perth’s major climate resilience projects, notably including two large seawater desalination plants and the landmark Beenyup groundwater replenishment (indirect potable reuse) scheme. 

At Goulburn Valley Water, Steve is leading initiatives aimed at achieving a low carbon, low water future for the region.  This includes strategic partnerships for large scale renewable energy generation, decentralised schemes and recycling and reuse projects. 

He has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering.
