Jimmy Summers

Jimmy Summers is the Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability at American & Efird LLC, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of sewing thread, embroidery thread and technical textiles. He is responsible for the EHS and Sustainability programs for the company’s manufacturing facilities and support facilities throughout the world.  A&E is the largest U.S. manufacturer and the world’s second-largest manufacturer and distributor of premium quality industrial and consumer sewing thread, embroidery thread and technical textiles.  A&E is a recognized industry leader in environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and operates its global facilities with the utmost regard for the safety and health of its associates employed worldwide.  Summers has worked in the textile and apparel industry for over 25 years, both in manufacturing and corporate positions.   He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, both from Clemson University.
